The connection methods of rotary joints include threaded connections and semi split ring flange connections.
The flange materials include: 20 #, A105, Q235A, 12Cr1MoV, 16MnR, 15CrMo, 18-8, 321, 304, 304L, 316, 316L, etc.
Flanges can be divided into flat welding flanges, butt welding flanges, threaded flanges, socket welding flanges, and loose fitting flanges according to their connection methods with pipes; There are various types of sealing surfaces for flanges, commonly including convex surface (RF), concave surface (FM), concave convex surface (MFM), tenon groove surface (TG), full plane (FF), and ring connection surface (RJ).
Below is a detailed introduction to the characteristics, applicable media, and environments of the five types of flanges mentioned above.
1、 Flat welded steel flanges are suitable for connecting carbon steel pipes with a nominal pressure not exceeding 2.5MPa. The sealing surface of flat welded flanges can be made into three types: smooth, concave convex, and mortise and tenon groove. Smooth flat welding flanges have the largest application volume and are mostly used in situations where the medium conditions are relatively mild, such as low-pressure non purified compressed air and low-pressure circulating water. Its advantage is that it is relatively inexpensive.
2、 Welded steel flanges are used for butt welding of flanges and pipes. They have a reasonable structure, high strength and stiffness, can withstand high temperature, high pressure, repeated bending and temperature fluctuations, and have reliable sealing performance. Welded steel flanges with a nominal pressure of 0.25-2.5MPa use concave convex sealing surfaces.
3、 Socket welding flange
Socket welding flanges are commonly used in pipelines with PN ≤ 10.0MPa and DN ≤ 40.
4、 Loose sleeve flanges, commonly known as loose sleeve flanges, are divided into welded ring loose sleeve flanges, flanged loose sleeve flanges, and butt welded loose sleeve flanges. Commonly used in situations where the temperature and pressure of the medium are not high but the corrosiveness of the medium is strong. When the medium is highly corrosive, the part of the flange in contact with the medium (the flange short section is made of corrosion-resistant high-grade materials such as stainless steel, etc.) is clamped with a flange ring made of low-grade materials such as carbon steel to achieve sealing.
5、 Integral flanges are often made by integrating flanges with equipment, pipes, fittings, valves, etc. This type is commonly used in equipment and valves.
