High pressure rotary joint refers to a common name that uses pressure exceeding the pressure range of conventional rotary joints. There is no specific range of characteristics. Currently, the highest pressure used exceeds 100Mpa. Due to different industries, the usage pressure of high-pressure rotary joints also varies. This article mainly introduces several commonly used high-pressure rotary joint pressure usage parameters and equipment.
The most high-pressure component currently is the two-way hydraulic rotary joint on the cutting machine in the steel plant. Use a pressure of around 80Mpa. The pressure safety coefficient of the two-way hydraulic rotary joint is about 120Mpa, and the frequency of use is not high. But the pressure is particularly high. Some rotary joint enterprises simply cannot produce them. Currently, most of the two-way rotary joints imported from Japan and South Korea use aluminum shells. The sealing structure used is relatively complex. The two-way hydraulic rotary joint produced by Dongguan Qingbang adopts imported seals and adds nanostructured carbon fibers. During the use of the rotary joint, carbon fiber expands upon contact with oil to ensure that it does not leak. And carbon fiber plays a lubricating role because it contains carbon lead. So, this two-way rotary joint will neither leak nor fail to rotate. The more flexible it is used, the less likely it is to leak. At present, it is mainly supplied to large steel plants for use.
The next step should be the rotary joint used for deep hole drilling equipment. The pressure used for deep hole drilling rotary joints is between 60Mpa and 80Mpa. But there is a characteristic of deep hole drilling joints, which is high rotational speed. Everyone knows that the three key parameters for using rotary joints are temperature, pressure, and speed. These three cannot be replaced by a high demand ordinary rotary joint. Now both the speed and pressure requirements are high. Currently, the most commonly used connector in China is the Dublin connector. When we tried to do it earlier, we couldn't achieve the same level of usability as Dublin. Later, repeated research experiments were conducted. We can buy Dublin rotary joints with the same graphite rings and silicon carbide. However, the sealing effect is not as good as others. Later on, we switched to using aluminum shells to solve the sealing problem. Sometimes a small detail issue can cause a product to exit the market or fail to enter the market. In order to have a long service life, the spring and sealing ring of the deep hole drilling rotary joint must be matched well. A slight difference in sealing effect will result in a much shorter lifespan.
Next are some issues related to the use of hydraulic equipment. Although the rotary joint used in the cutting machine of the steel plant can also be considered a hydraulic rotary joint, its usage is relatively small. The actual hydraulic rotary joint uses a pressure of around 40Mpa-60Mp. There are even lower ones around 4Mpa. The hydraulic rotary joints used in different hydraulic equipment are also different. Most of them are used at low speeds, low temperatures, and high pressures. The main issue of this type is still pressure. Another issue is the price. Because the pressure beyond the conventional rotary joint is not very high. So some companies even use ordinary rotary joints instead to save costs. There doesn't seem to be any problem. However, overloading the rotary joint can cause problems such as shell cracking and shaft detachment. Moreover, if the liquid used for communication contains corrosive or flammable substances, the results will not be worth the loss. In order to save money on buying rotary joints, the enterprise loses tens, hundreds, or even tens of thousands of times. This is not about saving money for the company, it's about spending money for the company.
