The installation of a rotary joint is a meticulous and important process, which requires ensuring that each step is correct and error free to ensure that the rotary joint can operate normally and extend its service life. The following are the detailed steps and precautions for installing rotary joints:
1).Cleaning work: Before installation, ensure the cleanliness of the rotating joint drum and the interior of the pipeline to prevent foreign objects from entering and causing wear. According to usage requirements, filters can be added.
2).Handle with care: During the handling and storage of rotary joints, collisions and drops should be avoided to prevent damage to the interface and internal components.
3).Check accessories: Ensure that all accessories are complete, such as bearings, seals, O-rings, etc., and check if they are intact and undamaged.
1).Select connection method:
· The connection between the rotary joint and the pipeline must be made using flexible hoses (it is recommended to use flexible metal hoses), and rigid connections are absolutely prohibited.
· Try to connect the inlet and outlet of the rotary joint directly to the hose as much as possible to reduce the auxiliary weight of the joint and extend its service life.
2).Install rotary joint:
· Connect the metal hose and transition joint (or flange) directly to the rotary joint. When connecting, the rotating joint housing can be clamped with workbench pliers for installation to prevent damage to the sealing components.
· When the hollow shaft is connected to the rotating body using threads, apply a layer of white lead oil or polytetrafluoroethylene tape to the threads, clamp the hollow shaft with a tool, and screw it into the center of the threaded connection hole of the rotating body until it is tightened.
· When the hollow shaft is connected to the rotating body using a flange, a uniformly thick washer (such as a copper washer or a PTFE washer) should be added to the end of the hollow shaft extending from the flange. Then, the mating part and screw hole of the rotating body should be aligned and fixed with bolts. When tightening the bolts, they should be tightened diagonally and then tightened with the same torque.
3).Inner tube assembly:
· The assembly of the inner tube should pay attention to the fit of dimensions and the auxiliary support of weight. It is recommended to use tolerance fit H8/e7 for the fit between the inner tube and the joint of the internal rotary joint.
· During installation, align the inner tube from the end hole of the outer tube to the screw hole on the end cover of the rotating joint and tighten it. Then, send the inner tube into the inner cavity of the rotating body. If siphon type is used, the siphon elbow pipe mouth should be adjusted downwards.
4).Adjust concentricity:
· Assemble the anti rotation and load-bearing lifting structural parts of the rotary joint, and adjust the concentricity between the shell and the hollow shaft to prevent the shell from shaking or rotating during the installation and use of the rotary joint.
5).Installation support and anti rotation structure:
· The support and anti rotation of the rotary joint should be appropriate. Generally, the diameter of the rod should be 2mm smaller than the anti rotation hole to avoid affecting the free adjustment and compensation of the rotary joint.
1).Check sealing: After installation, the sealing of the rotary joint should be checked to ensure no leakage.
2).Trial operation: Before formal use, conduct a trial operation to observe whether the rotary joint runs smoothly and whether there are any abnormal sounds or vibrations.
1).Regular maintenance: For rotary joints with oil injection devices, oil should be injected regularly to ensure the reliability of bearing operation.
2).Avoid long-term idling: Do not idle the rotary joint for a long time to avoid damaging the seals or bearings.
3).Temperature control: The rotating joint of the circulating heat medium should gradually heat up to avoid damage caused by sudden temperature changes.
4).Preventing foreign objects from entering: It is strictly prohibited for foreign objects to enter the interior of the rotary joint to avoid damaging the seals or causing other malfunctions.
By following the above installation steps and precautions, the correct installation and normal operation of the rotary joint can be ensured, thereby extending its service life and improving the overall performance of the equipment.
