Overview of Multi Channel Rotary Joint Connection Methods

The multi-channel rotary joint achieves the connection between multiple pipe fittings through a series of precise designs and constructions.  The following is a detailed explanation of its connection method:

1、 Basic structure

Multi channel rotary joints are usually composed of a rotating part and a fixed part.  The rotating part is set inside the fixed part as a rotation axis, and there is a fluid flow path inside it.  On the circumference of the rotating shaft, there are inlet and outlet ports for fluid flow paths, and on the inner side of the rotating part corresponding to the rotation trajectory of the inlet and outlet ports of the fluid flow path, there is a circular groove for transmitting fluid.

2、 Connection method

a. The fit between the rotating groove and the protrusion:

The rotating part of the rotary joint is equipped with a rotating groove, while the fixed part is equipped with a protrusion that matches the rotating groove.

When the protrusion of the top cover is inserted into the rotating groove, the top cover and the pipe fittings will be spliced together.  Similarly, inserting the rotating protrusion into the groove of the base will also join the pipe and the base together.

This method allows for flexible connections between multiple fittings, as well as between fittings and the top cover and base of the rotary joint, as needed.

b. Support for precision bearings:

The rotary joint usually contains two precision bearings inside, which provide stable support for the rotating part and ensure the smoothness and durability of rotation.

The low friction coefficient of the bearing enables the rotating joint to operate at high speed while reducing wear and energy consumption.

c. Sealing function of seals:

A sealing component is installed between the fixed and rotating parts around the fluid flow path to prevent fluid leakage.

These sealing components are usually made of special materials, which have characteristics such as wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and no leakage.

The wear of seals can be visually inspected through the appearance of the product to prevent mechanical shutdown or damage.

3、 Media transmission

When the multi-path rotary joint works, the medium enters through the shell hole and is transported to the rotating cooling roller or other equipment components through the hollow shaft.  In this way, the transportation process of the medium from static to dynamic is completed, achieving the goal of safe transportation of the medium to the equipment components.

4、 Application scenarios

Multi channel rotary joints have been widely used in multiple industries due to their unique structure and excellent performance.  For example, in metallurgical industries such as steel mills, they play a crucial role as key components of equipment such as steelmaking converters.  Meanwhile, in the fields of automation equipment, rotary table machinery, automatic drilling and tapping machines, hydraulic fixtures, maritime, military, and aerospace, multi-path rotary joints also play an important role.

In summary, the multi-path rotary joint achieves flexible connection between multiple pipe fittings and safe transmission of media through the cooperation of rotating grooves and protrusions, support of precision bearings, and sealing effect of seals.
