Q-type rotary joint is a specially designed rotary connection device, mainly used to connect rotating equipment with fixed pipeline systems, ensuring smooth flow and good sealing of fluids (such as water, steam, thermal oil, etc.) during the rotation process.  The following is a detailed description of the Q-type rotary joint:

1. Structure and principle

The Q-type rotary joint is mainly composed of the following key components:

(1) Spherical ring (sealing ring): mainly responsible for sealing function, forming a sealing surface with the spherical surface of the tube ball to ensure that the fluid does not leak.

(2) Column ring (support ring): The outer side is fixed on the inner side of the shell, and the inner side is connected to the tube ball, playing a role in supporting the tube ball and keeping it stable during rotation.

(3) Spring: Installed below the column ring, it is used to provide compensating force and maintain sealing performance when the sealing ring wears out.

(4) Tube ball: As a rotating component, it is connected to equipment and allows fluid to pass through.

(5) Shell: Fixing all internal components, providing overall structural stability and protection.

In principle, when the tube ball rotates with the equipment, its spherical surface rubs against the R-surface of the spherical ring, forming a dynamic seal.  Meanwhile, the plane of the spherical ring forms a static seal with the plane of the shell, ensuring that fluid does not leak from the outside.

2. Characteristics and advantages

(1) Simple structure: The Q-type rotary joint has a simple design, few components, and is easy to install and maintain.

(2) Automatic adjustment of concentricity: Through internal structural design, the Q-type rotary joint can automatically adjust the concentricity between the pipe ball and the sealing ring, reducing wear and improving sealing performance.

(3) High reliability: The use of precision machined outer tube spherical surface, bottom cover, and sealing ring together form a dynamic sealing friction pair, ensuring reliable sealing and extending service life.

(4) Widely applicable: Suitable for various equipment such as paper making machinery, drying cylinders, coating machines, calenders, etc. that use steam, hot water, or thermal oil.

3. Application Fields

Q-type rotary joints are widely used in the following fields:

(1) Paper industry: cardboard production lines, paper mills, etc.

(2) Rubber and plastic industry: presses, screw extruders, mixing mixers, flat vulcanizers, etc.

(3) Drying equipment: Provide sealing solutions for large drying equipment to effectively prevent internal leakage.

(4) Hydraulic equipment: coating machinery, thin skin making machines, etc.

4. Maintenance and upkeep

To ensure the long-term stable operation of the Q-type rotary joint, the following maintenance and upkeep work needs to be carried out regularly:

(1) Check the wear of the sealing ring and replace the severely worn sealing ring in a timely manner.

(2) Clean the interior of the shell to prevent impurities from accumulating and affecting the sealing performance.

(3) Check the elasticity of the spring to ensure that it can provide sufficient compensating force when the sealing ring wears out.

(4) Regularly check and tighten the connecting bolts to prevent loosening and leakage.
