The Working Principle of The Rotary Joint


Rotary joint is a device that connects pipelines or equipment through rotation.  It consists of two parts: a flange fixed at one end and a rotatable joint.



The working principle is as follows:


1. Assembly: Firstly, connect the fixed flange to a pipeline or equipment, which is usually welded or bolted together.  Next, connect the rotating joint part to another pipeline or equipment and fix it with a flange.



2. Conduit: When two pipes or equipment need to be connected, fluid transfer between the two pipes can be achieved through a rotary joint.  The rotary joint contains a hollow channel inside, which allows fluid to flow between the two ports above and below the joint.



3. Rotation: When it is necessary to change the relative position between two pipelines or equipment, rotation can be achieved through a rotary joint.  The design of the rotary joint allows it to rotate between flanges without affecting the connection of pipelines or equipment.



4. Sealing: Rotary joints are usually equipped with sealing devices such as O-rings, sealing gaskets, or packing to ensure good sealing between two pipelines or equipment connections.  This can prevent fluid or gas leakage and ensure the normal operation of the system.



In general, rotary joints connect two pipelines or equipment through rotation, achieving fluid transfer and position adjustment while maintaining good sealing.  This makes connection, maintenance, and operation more flexible and convenient in complex pipeline systems and equipment layouts.
